Pay It Furloughed: A RAD* effort to support our local community
Furlough is tough. Not only are federal workers not getting paid, but local businesses are suffering. Al Goldberg of Mess Hall, with Food & Travel Writer Nevin Martell are here to help, or at least soften the pain with that great unifier – Beer.
Beer makes everything better, so Pay It Furloughed is buying local craft brews for federal employees impacted by the government shutdown. So scoot on over to PayItFurloughed.com and donate to the beer fund. Stressed out federal employees, who are furloughed or working without pay, score free liquid therapy. Small businesses in the nation’s capital hit hard by the shutdown get some relief. And you feel awesome. It’s a win-win-win.
The breweries currently affiliated with this effort are DC Brau and Atlas Brew Works. So let your federal friends know that all they have to do is get on over to one of these North East DC breweries and flash your Federal ID. Oh, and then enjoy that delicious pint.
